Arun spent four years in production support and could not get past resume screens for data roles. He rebuilt his profile around two Azure pipeline projects, did eleven mock interviews with our placement team, and joined Maersk as an Azure Data Engineer seven months after his assessment call.
Where things stood
Four years of ticket queues and shift rotations. Arun knew SQL well but had never owned a pipeline, and every data engineering application stopped at the screening stage.
What changed
He built two projects on real company-style problems — an incremental ingestion pipeline in Azure Data Factory and a Databricks transformation layer with data quality checks. Both went on his resume with the architecture diagrams.
The interview run
Eleven mock interviews before the first real one. The early rounds were rough on system design; by the eighth he was explaining partitioning strategy without prompting. He cleared Maersk in three rounds.
